Chelsea Green isn’t planning on letting a broken orbital bone get between her and the WWE Women’s Championship.
During a conversation with eTalk, Green talked about the unpredictability that comes with appearing on live WWE television, especially with SmackDown taking place in Toronto. Green made it clear she knows anything can happen once the cameras start rolling, and she came prepared in case somebody decided to come after her championship. Green has been dealing with a broken orbital bone, but that didn’t stop her from getting protective gear made so she could still get physical if necessary.
“The thing about SmackDown and Raw, it’s live. Anything can happen. I think that’s the thrill of it, is that any star can come out. We love in Canada to bring back legends and to have surprises, and so, you know, I don’t know what’s going to happen tonight, but that’s the beauty of it.”
Green then revealed that she already has a protective face mask ready to go if things turn physical.
“Anything can happen. I have my face mask ready to go that can protect my orbital bone. So, if someone comes at me for this title, know that I am prepared.”
Of course, Green wasn’t going to settle for some basic piece of medical equipment. When she was asked about the case holding the mask, Green revealed she had already given it her own touch and even prepared different eye patches to go with her outfits.
“Of course it is. Would you expect any less from me? I bedazzled the entire thing. I’ve got eye patches ready to go as well that match my outfits depending on what I wear tonight.”
Earlier in the interview, Green made it clear just how determined she is to keep wrestling despite the injury. She went through the long list of medical issues and broken bones she has dealt with during her 13-year career, saying another injury isn’t going to take away the moment she has spent years waiting for. Green went even further and said she is willing to compete with the broken orbital bone if that is what it takes.
“No broken bones are ever going to keep me down. At this point, I’ve had heart surgery, I’ve had a broken ankle, collarbone, nose, cheekbone, orbital bone, and three broken arms.”
“Especially at this point in my career, there’s not a single thing that can happen to me that is going to keep me down because I’ve been waiting my entire career for this moment. So, I’m ready to go. Put me in, coach. I will fight with a broken orbital bone, whatever I need to do.”
Chelsea Green clearly isn’t interested in spending her championship run watching from the sidelines. Between the protective mask, matching eye patches and her willingness to wrestle hurt, Green is preparing for whatever WWE throws at her next.
What do you think of Chelsea Green being ready to compete with a broken orbital bone? Should WWE let her wrestle with the protective mask, or should she stay out until she’s fully healed? Let us know what you think in the comments.
