Chelsea Green has now confirmed the injury she suffered on WWE SmackDown, and it is more serious than initially known.
Green revealed in a video posted to Instagram that she suffered a broken orbital bone during Friday night’s match, which saw her team with Tiffany Stratton in a loss to WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid. She also said the injury sent her to the emergency room after the show. Green explained that she initially wanted to keep the situation private, but decided to address it after word of the injury began spreading online.
“Hey, guys. So I was trying to keep this kind of private, but the Internet knows everything, so I thought I’d come on here and clear things up. I did get injured last night. Stuff happens. It’s live television. It’s wrestling. It’s an occupational hazard.”
She then revealed the diagnosis and said that, despite how the injury looks, she is dealing with a lot of pain. Green admitted she does not yet know what the injury means for her immediate future. She also said this situation feels different from past injuries that she has been able to turn into part of her on-screen character.
“I ended up in the emergency room, and I have a broken orbital bone. It looks amazing, all things considered. It feels awful, but looks pretty amazing.”
“I have no idea what that means for me. Usually you guys have seen me play into every single injury, but this feels different. Obviously, this feels very different. It feels frustrating. I’m upset.”
She added that she needs some time to process what happened and recover from the head trauma before figuring out what comes next. Green still ended the video on a determined note.
“I just need to take a little bit more time to process and to kind of heal from, obviously, the head trauma that is going on right now. And then we’ll see what happens. We’re just gonna take it day by day.”
“World domination continues. We’ve just had a minor blip.”
The injury comes at a terrible time for Green, who just won the interim WWE Women’s Championship at SummerSlam 2026. There is still no clear timetable for her return, and Green herself made it clear that she does not yet know what this means for her status moving forward.
