Chelsea Green finally got the kind of career-defining moment she had spent years chasing at WWE Crown Jewel, only for everything to fall apart minutes later. Now she’s opened up about just how badly Tiffany Stratton’s betrayal hit her.
Speaking during the Crown Jewel post-show, Green addressed losing the WWE Women’s Championship immediately after the shocking cash-in. For Green, the worst part wasn’t simply losing her title — it was losing someone she considered a friend in the process.
“How do you think I feel? I spent my entire wrestling career waiting for this moment, wanting to stand here and tell the WWE Universe, and my mom and dad, and my friends that I belong here.”
Green had actually spent the build to Crown Jewel talking about finally proving she belonged at the top. After defeating Liv Morgan, she thought she had finally gotten that validation, only for the night to take a pretty brutal turn.
“I just spent 10 minutes on SmackDown telling the world that this was going to be the moment at Crown Jewel that was gonna show everyone I belonged here. And instead, I didn’t just lose my championship — I lost a friend.”
That friend was Tiffany Stratton, who initially appeared to come to Green’s rescue after Morgan attacked her following the match. Green even helped Stratton when Roxanne Perez and Raquel Rodriguez tried to get involved, apparently believing Tiffy had her back.
That trust lasted about as long as Green’s celebration. Stratton revealed she was cashing in her Money in the Bank contract on Green, then hit the exhausted champion with the Prettiest Moonsault Ever to steal the WWE Women’s Championship. Green admitted the whole thing has taken a serious hit on her confidence. Rather than immediately promising revenge, she said she needs some time away to get herself back together.
“So, I’m gonna go home and regroup. And I’m gonna do whatever I need to do to build my confidence back up.”
Green still leaves Riyadh as the Women’s Crown Jewel Champion, but that clearly isn’t making what happened sting any less. After spending years trying to prove she belonged, she finally reached the moment she had been waiting for — only to leave questioning herself and a friendship she thought she could trust.
