Chad Gable didn’t waste much time licking his wounds after losing the Intercontinental Championship to Ethan Page. Just days after dropping the title on RAW, Gable has already made it clear he plans on coming back for what he believes is still his.
Gable addressed the loss during a Q&A video uploaded to his Instagram account. He acknowledged that losing the Intercontinental Championship put a damper on an otherwise incredible trip, but promised the situation would be handled.
“Besides losing my Intercontinental Title, it’s been an incredible trip. But we will address that. We will get that back and taken care of — you have my word.”
And Gable apparently isn’t planning on waiting around either. After finishing one more show and briefly heading home, he said his attention will immediately turn toward RAW and chasing the championship he just lost.
“We got one more big show tonight, then it’s home for a day, then off to Monday Night RAW to start chasing down my championship again.”
Gable lost the Intercontinental Championship to Ethan Page during the November 2 episode of RAW at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. The two opened the show with a physical title match that saw Gable repeatedly target Page’s leg and nearly put him away with the ankle lock.
Page somehow survived everything Gable threw at him, including Chaos Theory, an Olympic Slam onto the announce table and multiple submission attempts. The finish came when Page escaped another ankle lock, sent Gable into the turnbuckles and rolled through into an Egoplex to score the three-count and leave Brooklyn with the title.
Gable’s comments certainly make it sound like Page shouldn’t expect him to simply disappear from the championship picture. The former champion is already calling the belt “my championship,” and if his Instagram promise is anything to go by, losing it may have just given him something new to obsess over heading into RAW.
