Cathy Kelley has provided a rare look into her personal life, revealing that she’s currently single while discussing the challenges of dating with her demanding WWE schedule.
While speaking with Chris Van Vliet, the WWE broadcaster revealed her current relationship status and admitted that finding time to meet someone has not been easy. Kelley joked that her current approach to dating is far from ideal: “It’s probably better than my dating plan right now, which is just be on my couch and hopefully someone shows up.”
The comment came as Kelley discussed a recent attempt by Joe Tessitore to get her involved with ABC’s The Bachelorette. According to Kelley, Tessitore even tried to nominate her for the reality dating show through his industry connections: “Joe Tess actually tried to nominate me to be The Bachelorette recently.” She explained that Tessitore knew producers associated with the show and attempted to pass along her information.
“Yeah, he’s, he’s friends with people at ABC, the producers of the show, because he worked on a similar show on ABC. And then he’s also friends with Jesse, the host. So I think there was a text exchange of sending in my information which didn’t lead to anything but.”
While nothing ultimately came from the effort, Kelley admitted she would not completely rule out the opportunity if it ever became a realistic option: “I wouldn’t say no right now. Like I think I would explore it if it was the right opportunity, but…” Kelley also addressed the idea that reality television relationships rarely work, saying she knows examples that prove otherwise.
“So people always they say that it’s not possible, but I know some couples that have come from there and there are. I mean, I, I work so much so it’s like not really ideal for meeting someone so.”
Based on her comments, Kelley appears to be single at the moment and focused heavily on her career. While she isn’t ruling out finding love through unconventional means, she made it clear that balancing dating with her WWE responsibilities remains a challenge.
