Cash Wheeler has no interest in spending his life arguing with wrestling trolls online.

While speaking with LNG Productions, Wheeler was asked about being more offline than a lot of wrestlers today. Cash has never been the guy posting every thought, every reaction, and every argument for fans to pick apart. These days, that is by design. Cash said social media used to be fun for him, especially when he was stuck traveling.

“I used to really enjoy partaking more in social media and I would especially when we were on longer travels, like long flights, long bus rides, like going back and forth was always entertaining to me.”

That changed when the jokes stopped being jokes and everything turned into another reason for people to get negative. Wheeler said he has also become more private over time. For him, getting away from the noise has helped keep work and home life separate.

“But then it gets to a point where people don’t really find humor in it anymore or they it just opens up another door for somebody else to like try to bring it down and to really make it negative and to take it serious when that’s not the tone.”

“And I’ve also just I think become more private as a person over time. I have always been pretty private, but it’s gotten to the point now where I just I really value that separation between work and home.”

Cash said stepping away from the constant social media grind has helped him enjoy wrestling more. He still likes parts of it, but he is not trying to get sucked into tribal fights between fanbases.

“So yeah, I do think that it’s something that’s helped me enjoy work more because there’s still people that I know from social media. Like that’s how I know of you. Our Floyd, our friend Floyd, which I’m sure everybody at this point probably knows Floyd if you’re in the wrestling community. But like I enjoy that aspect of it, but I try not to take it too serious or read too much into the back and forths and like the tribalism on both sides.”

Then Cash took a shot at people who spend their time running troll accounts. He said he does not understand how anyone finds joy in that. Cash said he does not even enjoy mocking those people. He just thinks it is pathetic.

“I can’t believe that people have fun and act actively go out trying to be like a troll account. Like that makes me think that you have a very sad sad life outside of that online account.”

“It’s like I don’t even enjoy making fun of that. It’s like I just I genuinely wish that you had a better life so you weren’t having to be such a terrible toxic person online.”

Cash Wheeler clearly isn’t playing the social media game the way some wrestlers do. He would rather keep his peace, stay private, and let the trolls scream into the void without giving them more fuel.
