Carmella wants everyone to slow down on declaring her wrestling career officially over. After calling herself retired on her podcast, the former WWE star says she’s actually considered herself retired for years—and that doesn’t mean she can’t come back.
The Princess of Staten Island took to Twitter after her retirement comments started getting attention. She seemed confused by the reaction and quickly made it clear that this isn’t some brand-new decision.
“lol idk where this is all coming from. I’ve been retired since I got pregnant with Dimitri. Doesn’t mean I can’t come out of retirement though…. 👀”
The whole thing started after Carmella appeared on the September 1 episode of her Hot Mom Sht* podcast with Laura Clery. While talking about meeting her husband Corey Graves through WWE, Carmella casually mentioned that she’s retired now.
“Luckily, I don’t—I’m retired now, so it’s definitely a little bit different. But, um, yeah, we met at work.”
When Clery picked up on the retirement comment, Carmella clarified that she was specifically talking about wrestling. She explained that her life is different now that she’s a mom with children.
“I mean, it’s—I was a professional wrestler, so it’s like I can’t wrestle anymore. I’m not—I’m a mom. I have kids. So, that’s kind of like I’m retired.”
That sounded a lot more final than what Carmella had said previously. Back in May 2025, she still talked about wanting to put her Jordans back on and wrestle again someday, just not at that point in her life.
“I think at some point I’d love to put my Jordans back on, move on back out there and get in the ring again at some point. Just not right now.”
Apparently, those two things aren’t contradictory in Carmella’s mind. She’s been retired since getting pregnant with Dimitri, but retirement doesn’t have to stay permanent. So maybe those Jordans shouldn’t be buried too deep in the closet just yet. Carmella isn’t promising anything, but she certainly knew what she was doing with her tweet.
