Carmella may have just quietly called time on her wrestling career, following her WWE exit back in 2025. More than a year after saying she’d love to wrestle again someday, the former WWE star now says she’s retired and “can’t wrestle anymore.”
While speaking with Laura Clery on the September 1 episode of her Hot Mom Sh*t podcast, Carmella was talking how she met her husband Corey Graves through wrestling. The two spent so much time working together that their professional and personal lives naturally crossed over.
“We worked together. So, we met through work and it was like very similar kind of situation. Like, we worked together all the time and then we were home.”
That’s when Carmella casually dropped the retirement line. While explaining how their relationship is different now, she noted that the work side of things is no longer the same.
“Luckily, I don’t—I’m retired now, so it’s definitely a little bit different. But, um, yeah, we met at work.”
Clery immediately caught the retirement comment and brought it up. Carmella didn’t walk it back either—she made it very clear that she was specifically talking about being retired from professional wrestling.
“I mean, it’s—I was a professional wrestler, so it’s like I can’t wrestle anymore. I’m not—I’m a mom. I have kids. So, that’s kind of like I’m retired.”
That’s very different from what Carmella was saying in May 2025. Back then, she told Sports Illustrated that she wasn’t ready to wrestle again but still hoped she could eventually put her Jordans back on and return to the ring.
“I think at some point I’d love to put my Jordans back on, move on back out there and get in the ring again at some point. Just not right now.”
Carmella hasn’t made a big retirement announcement, and this wasn’t even a conversation about whether she planned to wrestle again. The subject just came up while she was talking about her life, and her answer made it sound like wrestling is now something she considers part of her past.
If that’s where Carmella stands now, there may never be some huge retirement ceremony or final match waiting around the corner. Sometimes a wrestling career just ends, life moves on, and one day you realize you’re talking about it in the past tense.
