Candice Michelle has dealt with plenty of wild fan encounters during her wrestling career, but one awkward situation got so uncomfortable that she ended up passing the problem directly to fellow WWE legend Victoria.
During a conversation with TMZ’s Inside the Ring, Candice was asked whether she ever experienced creepy or strange fan interactions at appearances and conventions over the years. While she made it clear that she usually enjoys spending time with fans, she admitted there was one guy who completely overstayed his welcome and refused to leave even after people tried getting him away from her table.
“I’m pretty good with fans, you know, so I can kind of gauge that. And I don’t mind, like, giving somebody a hug or, you know, like, really kind of answering a lot of their questions. But I did have this guy one time, and he was just hanging out way too long. I was like, okay, buddy, you know, we got to go. And they were trying to get him away, but he wasn’t getting away.”
Instead of escalating the situation, Candice decided to solve the problem in the funniest way possible by convincing the fan that Victoria supposedly wanted to meet him around the corner.
“And so I said to him, I said, ‘Oh, did you know that Victoria really wanted to see you? And she’s around the corner.’”
The hosts immediately burst out laughing after realizing Candice intentionally redirected the awkward fan toward Victoria, but the story somehow got even better later that night when Victoria unknowingly brought the same fan up during dinner.
“Later at dinner, she’s like, ‘There was this really weird guy, and he came up to me.’ I was like, ‘Oh my God, I sent him to you.’”
Wrestling conventions and meet-and-greets have become a huge part of the business for current and former wrestlers, but stories like this are a reminder that talent sometimes have to deal with uncomfortable situations behind the scenes while trying to stay friendly with fans.
