Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano just hit 10 years of marriage, but Candice isn’t pretending every part of the ride has been easy. The WWE star marked their anniversary on September 16 with a deeply personal message, admitting the past year was especially rough while making it clear their marriage is what helped them survive it together.

LeRae shared the message on Instagram alongside photos from their wedding day. She opened by admitting she’s still trying to wrap her head around everything they’ve experienced since getting married a decade ago, especially after what she described as a difficult year.

“I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. It’s been really difficult to put into words what a whirlwind dream this last 10 years has been. Partly because this last year was so tough. But what wasn’t tough and got us through was the marriage.”

Candice didn’t spell out one specific thing that made the year so difficult, but she went deep on how she and Gargano handle things when one of them starts falling apart. According to LeRae, there’s basically no debate about who has to step up — the other person just does it.

“It’s fascinating to me that when one of us is ‘crashing out’ the other one steps in and is rational, patient, and calm. When one of us is sad, depressed, or simply needs a minute, the other steps up and gets sh!t done. Never a discussion. It’s something that (somehow and I’ll never understand it) naturally happens.”

LeRae also made it clear she doesn’t want Gargano giving her all the credit for keeping their family together. She sees the entire thing as a team effort and flat-out told him she couldn’t do any of it without him.

“I know you always want to post about me and what I contribute to the marriage, but a marriage is a team. I can’t do this without you.”

That team started with a wrestler from Riverside, California and another from Cleveland, Ohio chasing the same crazy dream. Ten years later, they’ve built careers, a family and a life together, with LeRae pointing to their son Quill as the biggest proof that betting on themselves worked.

“A girl from Riverside, CA and a boy from Cleveland, OH found each other pursuing their dreams. They got together, bet everything on themselves and went into marriage and life head first. Together. And 10 years later, we’re killing it. Quill is living proof of that.”

Candice closed the anniversary message with exactly the kind of Disney and Marvel energy you’d expect from the Gargano household. She made it clear that after everything they’ve been through, she’d still make the same choice all over again.

“I’d marry you again and again (especially on Disney property). I love and adore you 3000. Yes. In every universe. 💛❤️”

Ten years in, Candice isn’t selling some perfect fairy-tale marriage where nothing ever goes wrong. Her message was pretty much the opposite — things got rough, one of them would crash, and the other would pick up the pieces without being asked. After a decade together, that system apparently still works just fine.
