Brooke Hogan has a very different story to tell about where things stand with her brother Nick. After Nick Hogan said the family was in a “really good place,” Brooke says the two of them aren’t even speaking.
While speaking to Us Weekly, Brooke responded directly to Nick’s recent comments about their relationship. She said she has deliberately chosen not to discuss what is happening between them publicly, and she wants that decision respected.
“I’ve made a conscious choice to keep the details of my relationship with my brother private. I’d appreciate the same courtesy in return.”
Then Brooke made the situation pretty clear. Nick may have publicly praised his sister and talked about how well the family is doing, but Brooke says they currently have no communication at all. She also doesn’t agree with the picture Nick painted of their relationship.
“We are not in communication, and his characterization of our relationship does not reflect my experience.”
Brooke had one more message to get across. Her decision not to publicly discuss whatever happened between them shouldn’t be taken as her agreeing with Nick’s version of things.
“My privacy should not be mistaken for agreement.”
That response comes just days after Nick was asked about Brooke while speaking to TV Insider on August 28. Nick had nothing but positive things to say. He praised everything Brooke has going on in her life and said he was proud of her.
“I’m so proud of Brooke. I’m so excited for everything she has got going on.”
Nick then brought up Brooke getting married, having twins and building her career before giving a much different description of where the Hogan family currently stands.
“She had twins. She got married. We’re just really excited for everything that’s going on for her. I’m so proud of her and, you know, everybody’s doing really well. My mom [Linda] is doing great right now. My entire family has been so supportive of everything that we’re doing. So, we’re in a really good place.”
There had already been questions about Brooke and Nick’s relationship after WrestleMania 42 weekend. Nick participated in WWE’s tributes to Hulk Hogan, while Brooke was noticeably absent. Brooke later revealed that WWE President Nick Khan told her an invitation had been extended through her brother rather than directly to her.
“Nick Khan called me personally and said that he extended the invite through my brother. And that was kind of it.”
Nick never publicly explained what happened with that invitation. Now Brooke is making it clear that whatever is happening between them goes beyond fans simply reading too much into a WrestleMania absence.
Nick says the family is in a good place. Brooke says they aren’t talking at all. Those are two very different versions of the same relationship, and Brooke clearly doesn’t want her silence being used to tell Nick’s version for her.
