Bron Breakker wants his name included among the greatest athletes to ever compete for WWE. The current WWE Tag Team Champion knows he still has plenty left to prove, but that is the legacy he is chasing.
During an interview with 11Alive, Breakker was asked how he wants fans to remember him when his WWE career is over. He said he wants to be viewed as a complete performer and one of the greatest athletes the company has ever seen.
“Just someone who was really good, someone who was really well-rounded, someone who was arguably the greatest athlete that works here. Like I said, I just have a lot left to prove, and I have a lot of things left to accomplish. It’s going to be a fun process.”
Breakker also wants people to remember the intensity he brought every time he stepped into the ring. When his career ends years from now, he does not want anyone questioning how hard he competed.
“That I was just flat-out an absolute dog. I don’t think anyone, when I walk away, can argue against that. At the end—whenever that is, years and years and years—that’s the legacy I want to leave.”
Despite already winning championships in NXT and on WWE’s main roster, Breakker is not interested in sitting back and celebrating his résumé. When asked to name the most memorable in-ring moment of his career, he admitted that looking backward is not how he operates. Breakker believes he still has too many goals left to accomplish before he can begin reflecting on his career.
“It’s tough to say. I’m not really someone who likes to look back on my career and look at the things that I’ve done. I’m a forward thinker. I’m a goal-oriented person.”
“I’m looking forward, looking ahead and looking at things that I haven’t accomplished yet. There’s still so much that I haven’t accomplished that I need to get done before I can sit here and reminisce on the things that I’ve done. I don’t think I’m in a position to do that yet. I feel like the future is bright, and we’re yet to see it.”
Breakker currently holds the WWE Tag Team Championship alongside Austin Theory. He will face Oba Femi at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event on September 6 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
Breakker is not hiding what he wants from his career. Winning championships is part of the journey, but his larger goal is making sure his name belongs in WWE’s greatest-athlete conversation when everything is over.
