Brodie Lee Jr. tried to find his way out of Cody Rhodes’ ALS Ice Bucket Challenge nomination. Unfortunately for him, his mother Amanda Huber had already made sure there was plenty of ice waiting.
Brodie took to Instagram and revealed that he had actually been nominated twice for the challenge, which continues spreading throughout wrestling in support of Rebel. He arrived with a pretty convenient explanation for why he couldn’t participate: the ice machine wasn’t working and the car was supposedly out of gas. Amanda quickly blew up that plan.
Brodie: “I’ve been nominated not once, but twice for the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge. Unfortunately, my ice machine is not working, my car ran outta gas, so we can’t get ice.”
Amanda: “Brodie, what are you saying? I got the ice machine going. I had it going for a couple of hours now.”
Brodie: “Thought I unplugged it… well, I guess I’m doing it now. I nominate Ricky Saints and Joey Janela.”
There was no escaping it after that. Brodie took the ice-water dunking and completed the challenge, but apparently one soaking wasn’t enough. Immediately afterwards, his little brother shoved him straight into the pool.
The nomination came after Cody Rhodes accepted the challenge from his brother Dustin Rhodes. Before dumping the ice water over himself, Cody nominated Brodie, Brooke Havoc and WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green.
Brodie joined a growing list of wrestlers and personalities participating in support of Rebel, including Tony Schiavone, Mick Foley, Sting, Tony Khan, Harley Cameron, The Young Bucks, Anna Jay, Jack Perry and Luchasaurus.
Brodie may have tried unplugging the ice machine, but Amanda was one step ahead of him. Now Ricky Saints and Joey Janela have been put on the clock—and Brodie got an unexpected trip into the pool for his trouble.
