Brock Lesnar appears to be retired again after WWE moved him back to the alumni section of its official website following his brutal Hell in a Cell loss to Oba Femi at SummerSlam.
Lesnar had originally been shifted to the alumni roster after WrestleMania 42, where he lost to Femi and walked away from the ring. WWE later moved him back to the active superstar section when he came out of retirement and resumed the rivalry at Clash in Italy.
That comeback ended badly for Lesnar at SummerSlam. Femi defeated him inside Hell in a Cell, and Lesnar admitted afterward that Femi represents the future while he belongs to the past.
WWE doubled down on the retirement message during the August 3 episode of Raw by airing the same career retrospective that played after WrestleMania 42. The package, combined with Lesnar being moved back to the alumni section, makes his future as an active wrestler look extremely doubtful.
Even when Lesnar returned for the matches against Femi, he continued referring to himself as retired. That left the door open for occasional appearances without presenting him as a full-time member of the roster.
Lesnar has already walked back one retirement, so nothing involving him is ever completely final. For now, WWE is once again treating his career like it has reached the end, while Femi moves forward after beating him twice on major stages.
