Vince Russo is claiming that Brock Lesnar “absolutely hates” Triple H, and that’s now shifting the entire conversation around Lesnar’s future in the company.
Speaking on his YouTube channel on April 27, 2026, Vince Russo addressed the situation and claimed he’s heard there is real tension between Lesnar and Triple H behind the scenes. Russo didn’t hold back when laying out what he believes is going on, suggesting Lesnar’s actions could be tied to a deeper issue with WWE leadership.
“I hear that Brock Lesnar just absolutely hates Triple H. And I can see that Triple H has put himself in a position for people to hate him. Remember the Bret Hart–Steve Austin role—he has put himself in a position to be hated. He has put himself in the forefront of everything. He has put himself first in front of his own talent, and a lot of times in wrestling, that is a no-no.”
He then connected that claim to broader criticism of WWE’s current direction, arguing that creative decisions are starting to catch up with the company and could be creating internal frustration.
“Now we’re starting to see chinks in the armor. And what did I tell you guys all along? Bad creative is going to catch up with them. I told you guys that all along—you keep producing weeks and weeks and months of bad creative, it’s going to catch up with you. And the creative did not sell out Las Vegas.”
Russo also pointed to what he sees as growing tension backstage, suggesting there could be significant finger-pointing happening behind the scenes. He then tied it directly back to Lesnar’s WrestleMania moment, questioning whether the decision to leave his boots in the ring was done without informing WWE leadership.
“There’s got to be, at this point, a lot of finger-pointing, man—a lot of finger-pointing. And even to the point of what it looks like of Brock Lesnar saying, ‘Man, I need out of here.’ I mean, if the Brock Lesnar thing is a shoot and nobody knew about it, and he didn’t smarten up Triple H, that means he has zero respect for Triple H. Zero—none, bro.”
Russo went even further, comparing the situation to how things would have played out under Vince McMahon, making it clear he believes this would not have been tolerated in a different era.
“Can you imagine one of the talents pulling that on Vince McMahon, bro? That would have never happened. You wouldn’t have even dreamed of doing something like that, bro. You would have been gone so fast—Vince would have blackballed you, man. He would have made sure you never worked anywhere again.”
Finally, Vince Russo suggested that if Lesnar did act independently, it could point to a power shift in WWE and a moment of vulnerability at the top.
“But I guess in Brock Lesnar’s case, if it is indeed a shoot, Brock’s simply asking the question—what is Triple H going to do? And I would also think that Triple H would have to be at a point of vulnerability—him being very vulnerable at that point. And maybe Brock does something like that because he feels it’s the nail in the coffin.”
While there’s still internal belief within WWE that Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 moment, where he signaled retirement after his loss to Oba Femi was a genuine farewell, Russo’s claims introduce a completely different angle, one that points to possible backstage tension rather than just a planned send-off.
So if this is more than speculation, it could change how that WrestleMania 42 moment is viewed entirely, especially with talk about a possible final match for the Beast Incarnate at SummerSlam.
