Britt Baker officially made her in-ring return during the AEW Dynamite episode for September 9, 2026, and she wasted no time getting back into the win column. The former AEW Women’s World Champion scored the victory for her team in her first match back after a lengthy absence from the ring.
Baker teamed with AEW TBS Champion and CMLL World Women’s Champion Persephone and Hikaru Shida against Maya World, Hyan and Thunder Rosa. Earlier in the night, Baker also brought back The Waiting Room alongside Rebel, giving fans another dose of the act that became a major part of her AEW run.
When it came time to wrestle, Baker eventually found herself in the ring with Hyan. Rebel appeared at ringside and handed Baker her medical glove, bringing back another familiar piece of Baker’s presentation.
Hyan briefly caught Baker with a roll-up, but Baker kicked out and immediately turned things around. She locked in the Lockjaw while pointing toward Rebel at ringside, forcing Hyan to tap and giving Baker, Shida and Persephone the victory.
The celebration afterward made the comeback even more memorable. Baker and Rebel shared an emotional moment following the match before Baker climbed onto Rebel’s electric wheelchair and the two headed back up the ramp together while celebrating the victory.
It was a fitting ending to Baker’s first match back, with AEW leaning into both her history with Rebel and the personality that helped make her one of the company’s biggest women’s stars. After so much time away, Baker’s return to the ring ended exactly how she wanted it — with her hand raised.
