Disco Inferno had a question about the timing of Rebel’s video package on AEW Dynamite, and Britt Baker had a pretty simple answer waiting for him. Baker responded to his criticism by pointing out that there was an obvious reason the package didn’t air at the beginning of the show.
Disco Inferno took to Twitter following the September 9 episode of Dynamite and questioned AEW’s decision to wait roughly 45 minutes before airing the video package for Rebel.
“Maybe I am missing something, but what was the logic in playing that Rebel video package 45 minutes in to the show instead of at the beginning of #AEWDynamite?”
Baker spotted the criticism and fired back with an explanation of her own. She noted that Rebel was busy appearing alongside her in The Waiting Room earlier in the show, finishing the response with a smiling face with hearts emoji, just to get the point across.
“Cause she was in the waiting room at that time? Hope this clears your confusion 🥰 #AEWDynamite”
That pretty much answered Disco’s question while giving Baker a chance to throw a little sarcasm back his way. The Waiting Room was part of a big night for Baker, who officially returned to the ring later in the episode. She reunited with Rebel for the segment before teaming with Hikaru Shida and Persephone against Maya World, Hyan and Thunder Rosa.
Rebel became part of the match as well, appearing at ringside and handing Baker her familiar medical glove. Baker eventually caught Hyan in the Lockjaw and forced her to tap, giving her team the victory in Baker’s first match back after her lengthy absence. The night ended with Baker and Rebel sharing an emotional celebration before Baker climbed onto Rebel’s electric wheelchair and the two made their way back up the ramp together.
Disco may not have understood why Rebel’s video package waited until later in Dynamite, but Baker clearly didn’t think there was much mystery to solve. As far as D.M.D. was concerned, Rebel was simply busy elsewhere when the show started.
