Perry Saturn just made one of the most explosive claims you’ll ever hear about Hulk Hogan’s WCW years and it involves Brian Knobbs and drugs.
According to Saturn, Brian Knobbs wasn’t just one of Hogan’s closest friends backstage. He alleged Knobbs carried Hogan’s drugs so Hogan himself wouldn’t get caught with them. While speaking on his YouTube channel, Saturn made the accusation while reflecting on Hogan’s inner circle after arriving in WCW.
“He had Brian Knobbs there. Hogan brought his men. Brian Knobbs, great guy, got along with him great. He was there because he carried Hogan’s drugs. This way Hogan wouldn’t get busted with drugs. Brian Knobbs had them.”
The claim came as Saturn was explaining why Hogan’s friends immediately rubbed a lot of people the wrong way backstage. Using The Renegade as an example, he said wrestlers often resented anyone viewed as one of Hogan’s guys, before turning the conversation toward Knobbs and Brutus Beefcake.
Interestingly, Saturn’s criticism stopped when it came to Beefcake. He admitted he would’ve done exactly what Hogan did if he had that kind of power. If one of his lifelong friends needed work, Saturn says he would’ve found a way to get him a job too.
“Beefcake was there because they were friends for a lifetime, which I don’t fault Hogan for that because if I was in this position, I’d have got my friends jobs too.”
Where Saturn says he would’ve handled things differently was after that. According to him, helping a friend is one thing. Letting that friend get into situations they aren’t ready for is another.
“But I would also have told my friends, ‘Well, f***, you can’t work… you’re going to make me look bad and hurt me.’ So I’d get him a job some way, but making sure they understood their limitations, which I don’t think Beefcake did.”
Saturn has never been shy about sharing stories from his WCW days, but this allegation immediately stands out as one of the strongest claims he’s made. Whether anyone else ever backs it up remains to be seen, but the accusation is certain to get people talking whenever Hogan’s backstage influence in WCW comes up again.
