Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman have shared the ring countless times, but one match changed both of their careers forever. Six years later, Strowman thinks people are forgetting exactly how the Tribal Chief era began—and he just made sure everyone remembered.

As fans continued arguing over Roman’s legacy, Strowman jumped onto Twitter with a bold claim: none of it happens without him.

“Since it’s seems to be the hot topic in wrestling right now. Remember there is no Tribal Chief without me!!!! #ImagineIfIDidntWannaDoTheJob #stirringThePot #HereComesTheMeltdowns”

When Reigns returned at SummerSlam 2020, he immediately laid out Braun Strowman and “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt before inserting himself into their Universal Championship match at Payback. Reigns pinned Strowman to win the title, aligned himself with Paul Heyman, and officially kicked off the Tribal Chief run that would define the next several years of WWE.

Strowman’s timing wasn’t a coincidence. Conrad Thompson kicked the whole debate off by calling Roman Reigns the most overrated main-event star in WWE history, while Ryback fired back by defending everything Reigns accomplished in WWE.

The Monster Among Monsters wasn’t interested in taking either side. Instead, he reminded everyone that, in his eyes, there is no Tribal Chief without Braun Strowman standing across the ring when it all began.

Do you think Braun Strowman deserves credit for helping launch Roman Reigns’ Tribal Chief era? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
