Richard Holliday may finally be closing in on the WWE opportunity Booker T believes he deserves.

During the Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T praised Holliday following his match against Jesse Funaki at Reality of Wrestling’s Revolution Rising event. Booker said both men delivered inside the ring and deserved credit for tearing the house down.

“Big ups to Jesse Funaki. I want to give Jesse Funaki a shout-out, as well as Richard Holliday. Those guys went out there and pretty much tore the house down. I’ve got to give those guys a whole lot of credit.”

Booker then turned his attention directly to Holliday’s future. The WWE Hall of Famer acknowledged the talk surrounding WWE’s interest in Holliday and made it clear that he is pulling for the independent wrestling veteran to land a real opportunity with the company.

“Richard Holliday is a guy that I’ve been reading is on the radar of WWE, and Richard Holliday is a guy who’s been out there on the independent scene for quite some time. He’s a guy who’s had his ups and downs, and I’m really pushing for Richard Holliday to get his shot.”

Booker also brought up WWE tryouts that he expects to take place around SummerSlam weekend. He stopped short of saying Holliday would be involved, but he made it clear that he hopes the timing works in his favor.

“I know some tryouts are going to be going down here at the end of the month for SummerSlam weekend. Hopefully—you never know—but I’m looking out for my man Richard Holliday.”

Holliday has spent years building his name outside WWE, competing across the independent scene while working through serious personal and professional setbacks. His work at Reality of Wrestling has now earned a public endorsement from Booker T, and that is not the kind of support WWE officials are likely to ignore.

Nothing has been confirmed when it comes to Holliday attending a WWE tryout or signing with the company. Still, Booker T openly pushing for him could put even more attention on Holliday as WWE evaluates potential additions around SummerSlam weekend.
