Blake Monroe still hasn’t wrestled a match on WWE’s main roster, but apparently she’s found a pretty sweet alternative.
After a fan complained that WWE has Monroe doing “everything but wrestling” after she appeared on a SPORTbible show eating donuts, the Glamour fired back with one question: why wrestle when WWE will apparently pay her to do this?
“Why wrestle when i could get paid to eat donuts with a fork.”
Fair point. And it’s not particularly difficult to understand where that joke came from. Since arriving on SmackDown, Monroe has attacked Giulia, appeared in vignettes, worked backstage segments and continued making media appearances without actually having her first match on the main roster.
Apparently donuts can now be added to that list. The funny part is that Monroe has already heard all of this before. She previously addressed the growing impatience surrounding her delayed debut and argued that WWE throwing her into the ring immediately would’ve defeated the purpose of building anticipation around her.
“Listen, you don’t give it all away on a first date. I think good things take time and timing is key. And you can’t rush a good thing. If the time isn’t right and you rush to have your debut, it’s so easy to be forgotten about. You can’t have Christmas every day. You’ve got to wait a whole year for a woman like me.”
That wait has certainly become part of the conversation. Monroe hasn’t wrestled a televised match since April, and plans for her on SmackDown have already shifted along the way. She was discussed for a Women’s United States Championship program before WWE changed direction around SummerSlam following Rhea Ripley’s injury.
None of that appears to be bothering Monroe. Fans can keep asking when WWE is finally going to let her wrestle. Until then, the Glamour apparently has a pretty comfortable gig: Get paid and eat donuts. Wrestling can wait.
