Blake Monroe knows exactly what people are saying. It’s been months since the Glamour arrived on SmackDown, and despite attacking Giulia, appearing in vignettes and popping up backstage, she still hasn’t wrestled a single match on WWE’s main roster.
She gets why people are getting impatient. She just isn’t worried about it. Speaking to The Takedown on SI during SummerSlam weekend, Monroe addressed the growing frustration surrounding her delayed in-ring debut and made it clear she believes the wait is part of the plan.
“You can’t have Christmas every day. You’ve got to wait a whole year for a woman like me.”
Rather than seeing the delay as a problem, Monroe argued that rushing into matches is the quickest way for fans to lose interest.
“Listen, you don’t give it all away on a first date. I think good things take time and timing is key. And you can’t rush a good thing. If the time isn’t right and you rush to have your debut, it’s so easy to be forgotten about.”
Monroe believes she’s already accomplishing exactly what WWE wants—getting people talking before she’s even stepped into the ring.
“I’m taking my time. I’m making my name known. And the fact that people are so desperate to see me in the ring is a testament to what I’ve done already and what I can do.”
The timing of her comments is notable. Monroe was being discussed for a Women’s United States Championship program before SummerSlam plans changed following Rhea Ripley’s injury. Instead, Tiffany Stratton was moved into the Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match, leaving Monroe once again waiting for her opportunity.
That means the former NXT Women’s North American Champion is still searching for her first televised match since April and her first main roster bout since joining SmackDown. Despite that, Monroe insists fans haven’t seen anything yet.
“I love that people are so invested in my career. Every show I’ve been on has been different, and I’ve had to evolve and grow as a performer. I also feel like I’ve made, in the past year, so many new fans, which is exciting. And you haven’t even seen the half of what I can do. I’m excited to show them, and I’m grateful for the support. But be patient.”
Whether that patience pays off remains to be seen. For now, Blake Monroe is still waiting for her first main roster match—and she’s asking everyone else to do the same.
