BJ Ray has now jumped into Val Venis’ trolling of MJF, and apparently the boots caught his attention too. The former WWE star says adding several inches of height through wrestling boots and inserts is a lot more common than people might think.
Ray took to Twitter after Venis claimed MJF was wearing lifts in his wrestling boots and still appeared “barely 5’5″.” Rather than arguing over MJF’s actual height, Ray laughed at the situation and offered his own experience with wrestlers using their footwear to appear considerably taller.
“Lmao all the dudes I know have like 3 inch boots and then wear height insert for a couple inches. Literally about 5 inches taller than normal height. The world is a stage.”
Ray didn’t specifically confirm that MJF himself uses height inserts. His point was that, based on wrestlers he knows, thick wrestling boots combined with inserts can add around five inches to someone’s appearance.
That adds another voice to something Venis has already been having plenty of fun with. Venis recently posted a photo of MJF’s wrestling boots and claimed the former AEW World Champion was wearing lifts. He then used that assumption to take a shot at MJF’s “Big Hebrew” nickname.
“🤼♂️📢 Okay, when one has lifts like these and still appears barely 5’5″, I think the ‘Big’ in front of Hebrew is a little sus, don’t ya think?”
This whole thing started well before anyone was inspecting MJF’s boots. Venis had already been going after him after MJF claimed AEW had won over the “real wrestling fans,” responding by calling AEW “video game wrestling” and criticizing its in-ring style.
Now BJ Ray has wandered into the conversation with a little wrestling-boot math of his own. Whether MJF actually uses inserts remains unanswered, but his footwear has somehow become the latest talking point in a feud that originally started over AEW and “real wrestling fans.”
