Big E’s new memoir is not about championship victories, sold-out arenas or everything he accomplished in WWE. The former WWE Champion says “How I Got Over” is about surviving the darkest period of his life and giving hope to people who believe things will never improve.

Big E recently shared the first look at the upcoming book after receiving a promotional copy from publisher BenBella. The preview copy does not contain the finished pages, but it gave him a chance to thank everyone who has already supported the project.

The memoir is expected to be released in early 2027 and will cover different parts of Big E’s life and professional wrestling career. However, he made it clear that the deeper story goes far beyond what happened inside the ring. Big E thanked fans who shared information about the book and helped spread its message across social media.

“I truly just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who has been so supportive, everyone who has shared the message and who has shared posts on social media. This has been a true labor of love.”

Big E then opened up about being diagnosed with major depressive disorder with psychotic features when he was 19 years old. At the time, he did not believe he would survive his twenties.

“This ultimately is a message of hope for someone like me, who was diagnosed with major depressive disorder with psychotic features at the age of 19. I never thought I would make it out of my twenties. I had a very hard time for the longest time.”

Rather than filling the book with stories about titles and career milestones, Big E wants it to reach people who feel trapped in the same hopeless place he once occupied.

“I really want this to be a story of hope to those who feel hopeless. It’s not really about accolades and accomplishments. It’s about finding self-love. It’s about learning to find value in yourself.”

He said the book is also about healing and realizing that life can change, even when someone cannot see a way forward. Big E closed his message by once again thanking the fans who supported the memoir and helped spread its purpose.

“It’s about healing and knowing that things can get much, much better. At a time when I was really struggling, I never foresaw any of this.”

“I’m so, so grateful. I truly can’t thank everyone enough who has been supportive and who has spread the message.”

Big E has achieved more in wrestling than he once believed was possible, but “How I Got Over” will focus on the personal fight that came before the championships. His goal is to show readers that surviving a difficult chapter can eventually lead to a life they never imagined was waiting for them.
