Bianca Belair has already shared the exciting news that she’s having a baby, but now she’s revealing the deeply personal reason behind that decision.

After confirming she’s expecting a baby boy during WrestleMania 42 weekend, Bianca Belair has opened up about what led her to take this step in her life. And according to her, it all traces back to an injury that changed her timeline completely.

Speaking in a vlog on her YouTube channel, Belair explained that complications from her finger injury forced her to rethink her priorities. What she initially believed would be a quick recovery turned into something much more serious, ultimately keeping her out of the ring longer than expected.

“So, as everybody knows, at WrestleMania 41 I broke my finger—I broke my knuckle, and I have joint damage. I lost a portion of my joint, which can’t be fixed—I landed on her face. But, you know, I originally thought it was going to be a pretty straightforward recovery—they said 8 to 12 weeks.”

She went on to explain that the recovery process didn’t go as planned, with lingering issues that still affect her ability to wrestle today.

“But it just started not really healing correctly. It still won’t bend to this day—that’s as much as it’ll do. And I can’t get in the ring. It kind of just got to the point where I hit four months, and I’ve always wanted to have a baby. I’m not getting any younger, and honestly, this is what I want to do.”

From there, Belair shifted into the personal side of the decision, revealing that it wasn’t just about timing; it was about finally choosing herself after years of putting everything else first.

“I feel like for so long I was kind of putting what I wanted to do and myself on the back burner. Me and my husband—we had a talk, and I kind of just told him I’m ready to do something for me. I’ve sacrificed enough, and I’m just ready to have a baby.”

This wasn’t a sudden decision; it was something shaped by injury, timing, and a conscious choice to focus on her life outside the ring. Belair is still firmly part of WWE’s future, but for now, her focus has clearly shifted—and she’s owning that decision completely.

Do you think Bianca Belair made the right call stepping away to focus on starting a family, or would you have liked to see her return to WWE sooner? Let us know your thoughts.
