Bayley may not be gone from WWE television much longer.
The former women’s champion is expected back soon, with creative ideas already being pitched for her return to the Raw brand. According to PWInsider, WWE has been discussing creative plans involving Bayley on Raw, with her return expected to happen within the next few weeks.
Bayley has been off WWE television since losing to Lyra Valkyria on the July 18 episode of Saturday Night’s Main Event. After the match, Valkyria attacked Bayley, giving WWE a storyline reason to take her off television. She hasn’t appeared on WWE programming since that night, although she did wrestle at a July 26 live event in Bakersfield, California.
There had already been signs WWE was keeping Bayley in the picture. In the August 24 Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer pointed to the number of times her name had been mentioned on Raw as a strong indication that WWE still had plans for her.
“As far as Bayley goes, the frequent mentions of her on Raw this week would indicate to me that they expect her back. If they believed she might be leaving, they would not mention her name.”
Now, with Raw creative pitches being discussed and a return expected within weeks, Bayley appears to be moving closer to getting back into the mix. The 37-year-old has already built one of the strongest résumés in WWE’s women’s division. Bayley is a two-time WWE Women’s Champion, two-time SmackDown Women’s Champion, former NXT Women’s Champion and two-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Sasha Banks. She also won the 2019 Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match and captured the 2024 Women’s Royal Rumble.
Bayley has been away from WWE television long enough for the Raw women’s division to shift around her, and now it looks like the company is preparing to put her right back into the mix. The bigger question is what direction WWE has waiting for her once she walks back through the curtain.
