LA Knight has been noticeably absent from WWE television in recent weeks, and fans have continued wondering why he suddenly disappeared right when it looked like he was entering a major program with GUNTHER.
Before vanishing from WWE RAW, Knight appeared to be moving toward a feud with GUNTHER. However, plans quickly shifted after WrestleMania once GUNTHER moved over to SmackDown and began targeting Cody Rhodes instead.
According to Fightful Select, people within WWE and others familiar with the situation described Knight’s absence as a “non-story,” insisting there is currently no major issue behind him being off television.
Fightful also noted that Knight’s absence is not believed to be connected to an injury, contract dispute, recent WWE releases, or any kind of pay-related issue.
The report additionally stated that WWE creative changed rapidly for several wrestlers coming out of WrestleMania, leading to multiple directions being adjusted internally in a short period of time.
Fightful added that they are continuing to gather more information regarding which talents specifically had creative plans changed after WrestleMania and what exactly shifted behind the scenes.
LA Knight remains one of WWE’s most popular stars despite his recent television absence, so it didn’t take long for fans online to begin speculating about why he was suddenly pulled from RAW programming after appearing set for a major feud.
At this point, there still appears to be no indication that Knight is dealing with any serious backstage issue, and his time away from WWE TV may simply come down to creative direction changing after WrestleMania season wrapped up.
