Aalyah Gutierrez may have only just started her WWE journey, but she’s already earning praise from people inside the company.
Last month, Aalyah officially joined WWE’s latest Performance Center recruit class before making her first appearance at an NXT live event. Now, Dominik Mysterio has opened up about his sister’s progress, while The Undertaker revealed he’s already been hearing impressive things about how she’s developing.
Speaking on the Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker first asked Dominik Mysterio whether he’d had the opportunity to train with Aalyah since she arrived at the WWE Performance Center.
“How’s that going? Have you worked out with her at all?”
Dominik admitted he hasn’t been able to because of his demanding WWE schedule, joking that someone in the family actually has to be on the road working.
“I haven’t. I’ve—’cause I’m on the road. So one of us actually has to work.”
Despite that, Dominik said he’s been excited to see his sister enter the wrestling business. He also took another playful shot at his father, Rey Mysterio, saying there are currently two Mysterios in wrestling, with one hopefully nearing the end of his career while the other plans to stick around for a long time.
“I am. I am. I’ve actually—I’ve been excited, and I’ve told her that there’s two Mysterios in this business currently. One’s on his way out, hopefully. Who knows? One’s, you know, staying for quite a while.”
The discussion then turned to Aalyah’s development at the Performance Center. Undertaker revealed he’d already heard she’s doing extremely well, saying, “Well, I hear she’s down there killing it, man.” Michelle McCool added that she’d also been told Aalyah looks smooth in the ring, as she said, “Yeah, I heard she’s smooth.”
Dominik Mysterio then confirmed that he’s been hearing the exact same thing, although he jokingly suggested maybe that part of the conversation should be edited out.
“I’ve heard—I’ve heard good things. Yeah. Maybe cut all this part out.”
Between the glowing reviews coming from the Performance Center and Dominik saying he’s hearing nothing but positive reports, Aalyah appears to be making an excellent first impression inside WWE. Her in-ring debut may still be some time away, but it sounds like she’s already turning heads behind the scenes.
