Jody Threat’s time with TNA Wrestling is over just months after she signed a new contract with the company.
The former Knockouts Tag Team Champion finished up at last week’s Philadelphia television tapings after asking TNA to release her from the deal. PWInsider states that Threat requested her release and the company agreed to let her go. The split was described as amicable, with no indication of any major dispute between the two sides.
Threat had only confirmed her new TNA contract in January 2026 during an interview with PWInsider’s Mike Johnson.
“I am in the midst of interviewing TNA star Jody Threat. During the conversation, she revealed she has signed a new deal with the company.”
That agreement now appears to have been a short-term deal, or at least one that included a path for Threat to leave early. She completed her remaining work at the Philadelphia tapings before wrapping up with the promotion.
The exit comes after months of uncertainty surrounding Threat’s future. Her previous contract was set to expire on December 1, 2025, and TNA had been working to keep her after viewing her as a priority signing. Threat eventually stayed, but the renewed partnership didn’t last long. She has now been granted her release and is free to move on after finishing her latest run with the company.
Threat was a regular part of the Knockouts division and held the Knockouts World Tag Team Championship twice. Her departure removes another experienced name from TNA’s women’s roster while opening the door for her to pursue opportunities elsewhere. With the release described as amicable, Threat and TNA appear to be parting without any bad blood. The biggest question now is where the hard-hitting former champion will show up next.
Threat’s exit also continues a growing list of departures from TNA in recent weeks. The company has already seen former TNA World Champion Steve Maclin move on, while the tag team Sinner & Saint also wrapped up their time with the promotion.
