The inaugural AEW Redemption pay-per-view took place on Sunday, July 26, 2026, from the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The night was full of important matches, and that included the AEW National Championship.

Mark Davis defended the AEW National Championship against Andrade El Ídolo. This match had a lot of hype, and Andrade made his way to the ring with a lot of confidence and support from the Canadian fans.

Davis looked to continue establishing himself as champion against one of AEW’s most experienced competitors, while Andrade entered with the goal of adding another title to his collection. Andrade was also entering this contest with a five-match winning streak, which gave him a lot of momentum.

This match included a to of near falls and both competitors took fans on quite a ride. Mark Davis and Andrade left it all in the ring, even though the match also spilled to the ringside area for portions of it.

Adrade and Mark Davis had counter for counter throughout most of this match. In the end, Andrade nailed his finisher and won the AEW National Championship in clean fashion.

What’s your take on Andrade’s second run in AEW? Do you think that Tony Khan is using him in the right way? Let us know what you think in the comments section!
