Alexa Bliss woke up with a nasty black eye after a painful accident in the middle of the night. The WWE Superstar slipped while getting up to use the bathroom and smashed her eye against a shower handle.
Bliss revealed the injury through her Instagram Stories, sharing photos of the bruising around her left eye. She explained exactly how the freak accident happened. Bliss followed that with another short message showing how the injury looked when she woke up.
“Got up to pee in middle of the night, slipped & hit my eye on the shower handle. Woke up like this.”
The timing is far from ideal. Bliss is scheduled to wrestle at WWE Sunday Night’s Main Event on September 6 in Atlanta, where she will team with Charlotte Flair and Tatum Paxley against Jade Cargill, Michin and B-Fab in a six-woman tag team match. Bliss still has several days for the swelling and bruising to improve before the event. She did not indicate that the accident would prevent her from competing.
WWE also taped the September 4 episode of SmackDown in advance. That show will feature Flair and Paxley facing WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Fatal Influence members Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid in a non-title match. Bliss may be carrying a black eye into Atlanta, but there is currently no sign that she plans to miss Sunday Night’s Main Event.
