Alexa Bliss made one thing very clear before returning to WWE in 2025 — her daughter was coming with her. The former Women’s Champion revealed that she actually worked it into her contract so she could bring Hendrix on the road, calling it a “non-negotiable” part of coming back.
Speaking with Brandi Rhodes on Shot of Brandi, Bliss opened up about trying to balance WWE’s travel schedule with being a mom. She said Hendrix was barely a year old when she was working everything out, and disappearing for several days every week simply wasn’t something she was willing to do.
“It’s definitely really hard, but I am in so much of the phase of I don’t wanna miss anything she does. So that was one of the biggest things of coming back. I worked it into my contract that she travels with me. I was like, ‘I need to be able to bring my daughter along. That’s non-negotiable,’ because she, at the time, was only barely a year, and I was like, ‘I’m not leaving her on the road multiple days a week.’”
There’s another wrinkle too because Bliss isn’t the only parent constantly traveling for work. Her husband, Ryan Cabrera, has spent years touring as a musician, so somebody needed to have Hendrix with them.
“And she has two touring parents because Ryan tours every weekend. He has for the past 10 years. He’s still on a tour every weekend. And so I said, ‘She needs to go with one of us and it’s gonna be me.’”
Of course, bringing a toddler on the road means Bliss isn’t exactly traveling light anymore. She joked that the days of showing up with two little bags disappeared once she started bringing everything Hendrix needed.
“That was just something that it’s a lot of growing pains because now instead of traveling with two cute little bags, you’re traveling with 10 because you have, at first it was a Pack ‘n Play, a travel Pack ‘n Play and a stroller and a car seat. Now I’m very grateful for the opportunity to bring her on the road because I get to be there for everything, right?”
Bliss learned just how important that arrangement was when she went on one WWE UK tour without Hendrix. She said flights were around $30,000, so her daughter stayed home that time.
“And selfishly, I did feel bad when I went on the UK tour without her because flights were like $30,000.”
While Bliss was away, Cabrera sent her a video of Hendrix discovering the moon for the first time. It was an adorable moment, but watching it happen through a phone screen hit Bliss pretty hard.
“Well, luckily she adjusts really well. She’s been on two UK tours and she adjusted after the second day. I went on the tour and Ryan sends me a picture, or a video, of her discovering the moon for the first time, and she was so excited. She was like, ‘Moon, moon.’ She was jumping up and down, pointing at the moon, and I was so sad that I had to live that moment through a screen because I was like, ‘Oh, I should have been there for that or she should have—’”
Brandi called that feeling “mom guilt,” and Bliss knew exactly what she meant. That’s also why her solution these days is pretty simple.
“Yeah, the mom guilt. It’s crazy. I don’t ever wanna feel mom guilt, so I just bring her with me.”
Hendrix has apparently gotten pretty comfortable with WWE life too. Bliss said her daughter can nap backstage even with rehearsals and pyro tests happening around her, and she’s already starting to understand a little bit of what happens inside the ring.
“And it’s a lot to think about too, like for Hendrix, everything is still, she’s still taking her naps. So she’s napping at the arena during rehearsals, during pyro tests, during all the things, and it’s finding that, but she loves it, she loves watching.”
Apparently, Hendrix has even picked up one of wrestling’s most important lessons already — how to count a pinfall. Bliss said “one, two, three” has become one of her daughter’s newest favorite things.
“Oh my gosh. She just learned one, two, three, ding, ding, ding. That’s her new favorite thing. She’s so entertained by it all and she loves going to Ryan’s show. She loves music. She loves dance.”
Bliss isn’t pretending that traveling with a young child is easy, but being there for those little moments clearly matters more to her than having an easier road schedule. That’s why when it came time to work out her WWE return, having Hendrix alongside her wasn’t something she was willing to compromise on.
