Alexa Bliss and Ryan Cabrera have been married for years, but their relationship got off to a pretty hilarious start. As it turns out, Cabrera didn’t even know who the WWE Superstar was when people started linking them together. In fact, when The Miz brought up her name, Cabrera thought Alexa Bliss might be a clothing brand.
During her appearance on Shot of Brandi with Brandi Rhodes, Bliss explained how she and Cabrera first connected. The conversation started when Rhodes mentioned that she assumed The Miz had introduced them, which led Bliss to explain that Miz loves taking credit for their relationship. According to Bliss, the entire situation started because whoever was managing Cabrera’s social media accounts kept interacting with her posts. That caused people to assume the two were already dating, even though they hadn’t met.
“So there was a rumor that Ryan and I were dating because whoever was running his socials at the time was liking and replying to literally every one of my tweets. It was aggressive.”
Those rumors eventually made their way to The Miz, who knew Cabrera and decided to ask him about the supposed relationship. That’s when Cabrera gave an answer Bliss still finds hilarious.
“And Mike reached out to him and going, ‘Hey, I heard you’re dating Alexa Bliss.’ And Ryan goes, ‘Is that a clothing brand?’ Or, ‘I’ve heard you’re tied to Alexa Bliss.’ He goes, ‘Is that a clothing brand?'”
Bliss explained that Miz had to tell Cabrera she was actually a professional wrestler. Miz then offered to introduce them the next time she was in town, although that wasn’t exactly how their relationship started. Instead, Bliss and Cabrera began talking because the rumors about them wouldn’t go away.
“And then Ryan and I ended up messaging because the rumor just kept going.”
Things started moving when Cabrera mentioned that he was traveling to Orlando for a performance. Bliss happened to live there, which gave them an opportunity to meet.
“And he was like, ‘Well, it was nice chatting with you. I’m on my way to Orlando.’ And I was like, ‘Oh my God, I live in Orlando.’ And he had a show there and he was like, ‘You wanna come to my show?'”
Bliss confirmed that the show was at Disney, making the beginning of their relationship even more fitting considering their shared love for the parks. She also made it clear that The Miz still tries to take full credit for bringing them together.
The funny part is that Cabrera went from having no idea who Alexa Bliss was to eventually marrying her. And while Miz helped get the conversation started, Bliss made it clear that their actual connection happened after they began messaging each other.
