Alex Hammerstone is done staying quiet about the injury rumors that have followed him throughout 2024.
The powerhouse took to social media on March 7 to set the record straight, making it clear that most of the talk about his health was flat-out wrong.
“PLEASE STOP TALKING ABOUT ALL MY ‘INJURIES’ THAT NEVER HAPPENED,” Hammerstone wrote. “Thank you. Sincerely, perfectly healthy me.”
He then explained exactly what went down. While he did undergo knee surgery in December, he was back in the ring by February—so any other injury reports were off the mark. The real issue? A misdiagnosis that sent him on an unnecessary and expensive journey to prove he was healthy.
According to Hammerstone, a local state commission doctor listened to his heart and lungs and wrongly diagnosed him with a heart condition. That led to him being pulled from a show and sent to an actual hospital for further testing. The real problem? He had pneumonia. His heart and lungs “sounded funny” because of the illness, but once that was discovered, the damage was already done.
“I got sent home and sent to an actual hospital to get checked. I had pneumonia. My heart and lungs sounded funny because I had pneumonia,” he explained.
Despite quickly recovering, Hammerstone said he was caught in a “wild goose chase,” undergoing a series of tests and scans that kept him from getting back on TV. In total, he spent $20,000 on medical clearances for an issue that never actually existed.
With his TNA run officially over and his name cleared, Hammerstone is now a free agent and looking ahead to his next move.
