AJ Styles still wants Will Ospreay in WWE, and he made that very clear while praising how much Ospreay has evolved as a performer.

While speaking on his Phenomenally Retro podcast, Styles talked about Ospreay and said he would gladly see him make the jump to WWE. Styles praised Ospreay’s talent, growth, and understanding of what works inside the ring.

“Will’s the man, dude. I would love to have him in WWE—he’s an amazing talent. I think he’s figured out a lot about himself, and what he can do, and what looks good and makes sense—everything.”

Styles also admitted there is one concern with Ospreay’s style. He said people sometimes worry about Ospreay hurting himself because of how hard he goes, but Styles also understands that mentality because he has wrestled with a similar approach himself.

“Sometimes we worry about him hurting himself because he’s balls to the walls, but I get it, man. You’ve got one gear—you’ve got to go one gear until you retire, like myself.”

Styles’ comments come after he previously discussed Ospreay back in 2024 while speaking with Mark O’Brien of Irish Wrestling and Entertainment ahead of WWE Backlash. At the time, Styles admitted it was hard to keep up with everything happening outside WWE because he was focused on his own work and family, but he still said WWE should want top-tier talent like Will Ospreay.

“Well, it’s hard to keep my eye on what I’ve got to be focused on. What I’m focused on right now would be WWE. I’m focused on what’s going on with my own family, so it’s hard to focus on what’s going on outside of that but yeah of course why would I not want some of the best talent in the world to come to WWE I mean I think they’re great guys.”

Styles also made it clear back then that he respected Ospreay personally and professionally, saying WWE getting to top outside talent was only a matter of time.

“Listen, if he were a douchebag, I probably would have called on him to, you know, see if he wants to come here, see if we can agree with him. But, I think he’s a great talent, and there’s a lot of them out there. It’s only a matter of time before we get to them.”

Ospreay has long been considered one of the biggest names outside WWE, and Styles clearly still sees him as someone who would fit on that stage. Whether it ever happens or not, Styles’ latest comments show his opinion has not changed at all.
