AJ Styles knows some fans think he goes too easy on WWE, but he’s not backing down from it.

During the Phenomenal Breakthrough Podcast, Styles addressed the idea that he constantly puts over WWE. The topic came up while discussing his long run with the company, the friends he still has there, and why he wants people inside WWE to succeed. Styles made it clear that this is not about kissing up to the company. For him, it comes down to the people still working there, including talent at the Performance Center who may one day make it to the main roster.

“Yeah, and I think a lot of people think that I’m, ‘Oh, he’s a freaking,’ you know, whatever because he always puts over WWE. And I’m like, to be honest with you, I’m putting over my friends and colleagues and peers and people that I care for that work there. I, you know, I want to make sure that they’re in a good place. And if I dog WWE every second, then I’m not doing them any favors.”

Styles then doubled down, saying he wants to be a positive force because people he cares about are still trying to make it in WWE.

“So, I am going to promote WWE because I have people that I care about that are there and people that who are continuing like in the PC that will be up there one day. I want to make sure that, you know, it’s a good place to be. You know, it’s not a negative thing always. I mean, it’s not always going to be perfect, but nothing is. So, I want to do what I can to make sure there’s some positive influence on what’s going on.”

That is a pretty direct answer from Styles. He is not saying WWE is perfect. He is saying that constantly trashing the place would also hurt the people he respects who are still working there.

Styles has spent more than a decade with WWE, and even after stepping away from full-time competition, he still has plenty of ties inside the company. His point was simple: he is not defending a logo as much as he is standing by the wrestlers, coaches, and future stars he knows personally.

AJ Styles may catch heat from fans who want him to bury WWE, but that is clearly not where his head is. He still sees people there worth supporting, and he is not going to throw them under the bus just to score points online.

What do you think about AJ Styles’ comments? Do you respect his loyalty, or should he be more critical of WWE? Sound off in the comments.
