AJ Styles is firing back at accusations that WWE kept him away from AEW by bribing him with a Hall of Fame induction, and he’s not holding back.

After reports noted that AEW would have been willing to make a strong offer for Styles before his retirement and Hall of Fame induction, a fan on Twitter took things further. The fan claimed WWE essentially “bribed” Styles into staying by giving him a Hall of Fame spot and a long-term role.

"This is what peer pressure/coercion looks like. They really bribed this guy with the hall of fame and a lifetime gig just to not go to AEW."

Another fan doubled down on the narrative, directly telling Styles to enjoy the situation, saying, “Enjoy your bribery @AJStylesOrg.” Instead of ignoring the comment, Styles fired back with a blunt reply. Instead of denying the situation outright, Styles leaned into it and made it clear he’s exactly where he wants to be.

"If bribing me leads to getting the job that I want, that's great."

And that lines up with where he is now. Since retiring after his Royal Rumble loss to GUNTHER and entering the WWE Hall of Fame, Styles has transitioned into a new role scouting talent for WWE, a position that keeps him involved without the physical toll of wrestling.

Bottom line: AJ Styles isn’t entertaining the idea that he was forced into anything. If anything, his response makes it clear he views his current situation as a win, not a compromise.

Do you think AJ Styles made the right move staying with WWE in a non-wrestling role, or would you have liked to see him compete in AEW? Let us know in the comments.
