AJ Styles is on the clock as his 2026 retirement approaches, but there’s one TNA star who wants to test him before he hangs up his boots.

During an interview with The Stunner, current TNA World Champion Mike Santana put out a direct challenge to The Phenomenal One—and he made it clear this isn’t just any match. Santana wants AJ Styles in a TNA ring, with the world title on the line.

“A lot of guys that I grew up watching and idolizing, but the one guy that’s left is AJ Styles. Oh, yes. And I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again — I want to wrestle AJ Styles one-on-one in a TNA ring for the world title. Oh, that would be awesome.”

Santana emphasized how much it would mean to go one-on-one with Styles in the company that helped make him a legend.

“I think that would be a great match. And obviously, AJ is a TNA original, so that would be really cool.”

Styles returned to TNA for the first time in over a decade at Slammiversary 2025, and with WWE already preparing a full-blown retirement tour for 2026, the door is clearly open for one last match in TNA. Santana’s challenge could set the stage for a truly unforgettable showdown if WWE allows the cross-promotional moment to happen.

Whether this dream match becomes a reality is up to both companies to figure out, but the message from Santana is loud and clear: he wants AJ Styles—and he wants him in TNA.
