AJ Lee is not just popping back up in WWE conversations for nostalgia. She is already tied into WWE’s Netflix machine, and now she has confirmed fans will see her on the next season of WWE Unreal.
While appearing on State Of Mind with Maurice Benard, the former WWE Divas Champion talked about how packed her life has become now that she is balancing WWE work, writing, producing, and running her own production company. During that conversation, Lee made it clear that WWE Unreal is part of her next chapter. Lee said the last several months have been a full juggling act as she tries to cram multiple careers into one life.
“Now I’m trying to, the balancing act of trying to fit two careers into one life has been interesting. I spent the last 10 months, eight months on Raw on Netflix. I’m going to be doing Unreal, the documentary series for WWE, also on and then I’m still writing and producing.”
That is a pretty big reveal. AJ Lee has not been presented as some random talking head here. She has been involved around WWE’s Netflix era, and now WWE Unreal is going to put at least part of that story in front of fans.
Lee also brought up Scrappy Heart Productions, her company built around telling stories about underdogs. She said the company is already pushing forward with its first feature film after the short version made the festival rounds. She added that the feature-length version is now in motion, along with other projects she is clearly fired up about. Lee also teased that another comic book project is coming soon, but she did not spill the details yet.
“We’re about to announce a new one soon. Maybe in a couple months we can say what that’s about. But we’re working hard on that one. So, I just to me it’s all different parts of the same muscle. It’s all storytelling and creating.”
WWE Unreal has already pulled back the curtain on WWE’s creative process, and AJ Lee being part of the next season gives fans another reason to watch. Her connection to WWE has clearly not disappeared, and this Netflix appearance only adds more fuel to the idea that AJ’s WWE story still has more pages left.
