AJ Francis is calling out wrestling fans for switching up fast after Tommy Dreamer’s TNA exit earlier this week.

While speaking on the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, AJ said he’s been hearing all the chatter about TNA lately, and he’s not buying how some fans suddenly act heartbroken whenever someone leaves. He pointed to Tessa Blanchard as one example, saying fans spent months trashing her before suddenly claiming they would miss her once she got released.

“I hear all the little whispers, all the little TNA this, TNA that. I have heard people that for the last year have been calling Tessa Blanchard every name but a child of God and then when she decides she wants to get released all of a sudden they going to miss her. I don’t believe you. You need more people. I don’t believe you.”

Then AJ turned that same energy toward Tommy Dreamer. According to him, plenty of fans spent months blaming Dreamer for TNA’s creative direction, only to suddenly praise him once he was gone.

“And the same thing is the same, the same people who for the last three, six months been talking bad about Tommy saying Tommy’s the creative and Tommy this and Tommy that. Then Tommy has to leave and now all of a sudden y’all all love Tommy. I don’t believe you.”

AJ said fans are fickle and often talk like they know what’s happening inside TNA when they are not actually in the building. He made it clear that his view comes from being there and having direct communication with TNA President Carlos Silva.

“See, these people are fickle. It’s they, they, they spend their time talking about things that they don’t know, pretending that they know, and it bothers me because people try to tell me about TNA and I be in the building, right?

I be having—I talk to Carlos on the phone. Okay. I called Carlos, talked to him on the phone. Carlos, to this day, the only boss I’ve ever worked for that answers my call every time I call him. Only boss I ever worked for that answers my text every time I text him. That’s in wrestling and football.”

The comments come after Dreamer’s TNA exit became one of the company’s biggest backstage stories. Dreamer had been head of creative and was also involved in talent relations and day-to-day operations. He is already set for his first announced appearance after leaving TNA, as Rob Feinstein revealed Dreamer will appear at WrestleCon Night One on July 31 during SummerSlam weekend at the Hilton Minneapolis.

“Tommy Dreamer will be with us for Night one on Friday July 31st at Wrestlecon!!”

So, AJ Francis is not buying the sudden sympathy tour for Tommy Dreamer. As far as he sees it, some fans spent months dragging Dreamer, then flipped the second he left TNA because that became the new thing to react to.
