Scorpio Sky might be running out of time in AEW because his contract is getting close to the finish line.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Sky’s AEW deal is due up in the next few months. Other tracking has pointed to his contract running through October 2026, which means one of AEW’s original names could be facing a real crossroads very soon.
That is what makes this situation so interesting. Sky has not been a regular part of AEW television for a long time, even though he has reportedly been healthy and cleared to wrestle. So now the question is pretty obvious: does AEW have plans for him, or is this thing quietly heading toward the exit door?
Sky signed with AEW in 2019 alongside Frankie Kazarian and Christopher Daniels as part of SoCal Uncensored. He and Kazarian became the first-ever AEW World Tag Team Champions, and Sky also became the first African-American champion in company history. He later had a singles run and won the TNT Championship twice, so this is not some random roster name sitting around. AEW once had real TV time invested in him.
Still, things have gone cold. A possible idea to pair Sky with Private Party was teased but never really happened, and he has mostly stayed active on the independent scene instead. Now, with his contract coming up soon, AEW has a decision to make. Either they bring Scorpio Sky back into the fold, or one of the company’s original signings could be gone by the fall.
Do you think AEW should re-sign Scorpio Sky and finally use him again, or should he move on? Please share your thoughts and feedback in the comments below.
