AEW may have another huge pay-per-view crowd on its hands because ticket sales for AEW Double or Nothing are exploding heading into Memorial Day weekend.
According to the latest WrestleTix update, AEW has already distributed roughly 13,848 tickets for the May 24 event at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Flushing, New York. That number jumped by more than 300 tickets in a single day following Wednesday night’s AEW Dynamite and the continued build toward the pay-per-view.
The show is already way ahead of last year’s Double or Nothing event in Arizona, which finished around 8,200 tickets distributed overall. At this pace, AEW could realistically crack 14,000 fans by showtime if additional seating sections get opened up in the final stretch.
The demand also isn’t cheap either. The current lowest-priced standard ticket is sitting around $225, which makes the strong sales even more impressive.
A huge reason for the momentum is the loaded match card AEW has put together for the show. The biggest attraction on the card right now is easily the AEW World Title vs. Hair match between Darby Allin and MJF after Darby issued the challenge and MJF accepted on Dynamite. At this point, AEW looks like it may have one of its hottest American crowds in a long time heading into Double or Nothing weekend.
