AEW’s run on NJPW World in Japan is coming to an end.

New Japan World announced that AEW programming will be removed from the streaming service once the current deal between the companies expires on August 31, 2026. That means Japanese fans will soon lose access to AEW Dynamite, Collision, Rampage, Battle of the Belts, and AEW Now through the platform. The shutdown actually starts earlier than that.

According to the announcement, new episodes of Dynamite and Collision will stop being uploaded by the end of June. The June 24 episode of Dynamite will be the final episode added to NJPW World, while Collision’s last upload will be the June 27 edition.

After that, fans in Japan wanting weekly AEW programming will have to switch over to MyAEW. NJPW World released the following statement. The company also confirmed the timeline for the removal process.

“AEW content available to users in Japan and comprising editions of AEW Dynamite, Collision, Rampage and Battle of the Belts as well as AEW Now will no longer be available on NJPW World following the conclusion of the current contract term on August 31 2026.”

“Further, new editions of AEW Dynamite and Collision will no longer be added to NJPW World as of the end of June. For new episodes from July onward, fans in Japan can view MyAEW.”

“Final AEW Dynamite episode

Monday August 31.”

One thing is staying intact despite the split. NJPW World confirmed that Forbidden Door pay-per-view events will still remain available for purchase and viewing moving forward. The move marks a pretty major change for AEW fans in Japan who have been using NJPW World as a one-stop spot for New Japan and AEW content. Starting in July, that setup disappears, and viewers will need a separate platform just to keep up with weekly AEW television.

Even with the AEW-NJPW relationship still alive through Forbidden Door, this definitely feels like the end of a chapter between the two companies on the streaming side.

What do you think about AEW content leaving NJPW World in Japan? Will fans make the jump to MyAEW, or does this hurt AEW’s visibility there? Drop your thoughts in the comments below.
