The New Level apparently already have something major waiting for them after their huge AEW debut. Kofi Kingston and Austin Creed have barely gotten through the door, but AEW isn’t wasting any time putting them into another big situation.
While speaking during a Self Made Session, Self Made Pro revealed exactly what’s coming next. According to him, Kofi and Creed will be getting in the ring with The Elite very soon.
“They will be facing The Elite very soon. I’m just telling you guys that they are going to wrestle The Elite very soon.”
That’s a pretty massive matchup to throw at The New Level this early into their AEW run. Kofi and Creed made their surprise debuts at All In on August 30 as Swerve Strickland’s mystery partners in the Trios Royale Roulette. They immediately made the surprise count, with the three walking out of Wembley Stadium as the new AEW World Trios Champions.
Things apparently went just as well once they got backstage. We had reported that Kofi and Creed went around introducing themselves and meeting nearly everyone they could, with several people coming away impressed by how they carried themselves.
Neither man showed up acting like their long WWE careers put them above anyone else. They were described as approachable and open to talking about creative ideas with AEW talent and staff. Now they may be jumping straight from one big moment into another.
There’s no word yet on when The New Level vs. The Elite will happen or how AEW plans to get there. Kofi and Creed wanted to jump into the deep end of AEW’s tag team scene, though, and facing The Elite this quickly would certainly do the job.
