Nick Wayne could be back on AEW television as soon as this Wednesday, November 4. After spending time in Japan competing for New Japan Pro-Wrestling, Wayne is expected to return to the United States in time for AEW’s Blood & Guts special in Jacksonville, Florida.

Wayne has been working in NJPW while AEW continued its weekly programming without him. With the Super Juniors tournament now finished, his schedule appears to be opening up for a return, and he may not have to wait long to get back on television.

During the November 2 edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer discussed Wayne’s status and indicated that his return to AEW was approaching.

“Nick Wayne’s coming back.”

Meltzer explained that Wayne isn’t scheduled for NJPW’s Tuesday show in Hiroshima, which would allow him to fly back to the United States ahead of Wednesday’s AEW event.

“And I think he’s doing, I think he’s doing one more show, but he’s not doing, he’s not on the card on Tuesday so he’s, he’s flying back early so he could be on the Wednesday show in Jacksonville.”

Meltzer also suggested that Wayne could have something planned for Wednesday’s broadcast, although he didn’t provide any details about what AEW might have in store for him.

“So he’s gonna in theory be doing something on that show, but he is.”

The timing is interesting because AEW is preparing for a major episode of television with Blood & Guts, which will go head-to-head with WWE NXT. Several major names are already scheduled for the show, and Wayne’s return could give AEW another storyline to work with.

For now, AEW hasn’t announced Wayne for Wednesday’s episode, and his exact role remains unclear. However, with his NJPW commitments winding down and his return flight being planned around the Jacksonville show, there’s a chance viewers could see him sooner rather than later.
