Aalyah Mysterio’s wrestling plans are moving forward, and this is no longer just a quick test inside the ring. Rey Mysterio’s daughter is now expected to begin working at the WWE Performance Center in the near future.
PWInsider reports that Aalyah is expected to start at the Performance Center shortly. The update comes after Rey revealed that she had already completed two weeks of training and wanted to keep going.
Rey previously explained on the Six Feet Under podcast that Aalyah first stepped into the ring with him in October 2025. She enjoyed the experience, so he arranged a longer trial to see whether she could handle the full training schedule.
“We’ve been going back and forth trying to see if Aalyah was motivated enough to go up to the P.C. and dedicate some time to train full-time. She tried it out one time with me last year in October. She loved it.”
Rey then sent Aalyah back for two straight weeks of training. She worked Monday through Friday, took the weekends off and returned the following week.
“I said, ‘Let’s try to set you up to go up there for about two weeks and see if you can wake up every day and do this Monday through Friday, weekends off, and then back again Monday through Friday.’ She did two weeks, and she really loved it.”
Aalyah’s interest in wrestling came after she graduated from the University of California, San Diego, with a degree in Human Biology. Rey had promised to take her into the ring once she finished school, and she held him to it.
“I said, ‘When you graduate, I’ll take you to the ring.’ She graduated in July of last year. U.C.S.D., Human Biology. She showed me the diploma, and it was, ‘Okay, I’m ready.’”
Rey said Aalyah returned for another training session in February before preparing to establish herself at the Performance Center.
“I took her up in October of last year. She loved it. Sent her again this year in February for two weeks. She loved it, and now she’s getting ready to go up there and establish herself at the P.C.”
The WWE Hall of Famer admitted he never expected both Aalyah and Dominik Mysterio to possibly follow him into the wrestling business.
“If you would have told me my kids were going to grow up and become wrestlers, both of them, I think you’re wrong.”
Rey is already thinking about what could happen if Aalyah sticks with wrestling. He previously became a WWE Tag Team Champion with Dominik before facing his son at WrestleMania, and he believes working with his daughter could create another historic family moment. Rey also made it clear that Aalyah will not be pressured to continue if she decides wrestling is not for her.
“To be able to have shared the ring with my son, become the first father-and-son Tag Team Champions in WWE, and then later feud against each other—but now with my daughter, it’s like, what can we do there? This is a historical moment.”
“She might be there for a year and say, ‘Dad, I thought this was for me, and maybe it’s not.’ I said, ‘Don’t feel pressured that you have to be here. It’s got to come from in here. You’ve got to feel it.’”
Aalyah has already tested herself, finished two weeks of training and decided she wants more. Her expected arrival at the Performance Center could now mark the beginning of another Mysterio entering the WWE system.
