The AAA Latin American Championship is officially vacant after Rey Mysterio shut down Dorian Roldán’s attempt to hand the title to Omos.
The drama went down on the July 11, 2026 edition of AAA on FOX. Roldán walked to the ring with Omos and the championship before blaming Rey for El Hijo del Vikingo’s injury.
Roldán claimed Rey was negligent for allowing Vikingo to compete in NXT and on SmackDown. He then threatened to sue the AAA general manager. Roldán followed that by announcing Omos as the new AAA Latin American Champion simply because he had the power to do it.
Rey was not having it. The WWE Hall of Famer came to the ring and told Roldán that he could not hand Omos the title without a match. Rey then ordered Omos to give him the championship. Omos refused at first, so Rey threatened to suspend him indefinitely. Omos then shoved the title into Rey’s hands.
Rey officially declared the AAA Latin American Championship vacant and said he will reveal next week how a new champion will be crowned. Roldán also got one final warning. Rey told him that if he wanted to sue, he would see him in court.
Omos may still get a shot at the title, but Rey made sure he will have to earn it.
