It’s been six years since we last saw Cody wrestle on RAW, and tonight he faces-off against The Miz and it will be interesting to see what kind of reaction he gets outside of WrestleMania week. The Uso’s will also be on hand tonight after Roman Reigns said he wants all the gold and told his cousins to go get the RAW Tag Titles.

Speaking of tag titles, Sasha Banks and Naomi will defend theirs against the troubled team of Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley. Morgan and Ripley don’t seem longed for the world and we could see it all fall apart tonight. Veer debuted last week after months of struggling to find RAW, and tonight he faces Rey Mysterio after pummelling him and his son. RAW

This week’s RAW opens with a video package that is all about Cody Rhodes, his return and his promo on last week’s show.

Jerry Lawler is on commentary in lieu of Corey Graves, who just got married to Carmella. The Miz comes to the ring for a new episode of Miz TV. He says his guest tonight is an extraordinary man who has been the talk of the town since he returned to WWE at WrestleMania and defeated Seth Rollins. But can he beat him tonight? The fans chant “yes!” and Miz says their opinions hardly matter when they cheer for the Detroit Lions.

Cody comse to the ring and the fans are bananas for him. Miz impatiently waits for Rhodes to take his seat and the fans chant “Cody”. Miz says “now that we’ve broke the pyro budget and you took 45 minutes to celebrate yourself”. Miz asks if Cody doesn’t care about anyone but himself. Cody says “don’t get hot” and tells Miz to not begrudge him this moment. Miz goes to speak but Cody jumps up and poses and the fans explode.

Miz says Cody made an emotional speech last week about wanting to return to WWE to make his father, Dusty Rhodes, proud. Miz says that’s admirable, but if it wasn’t for Dusty Cody wouldn’t be the grandson of a plumber, he’d just be a plumber. Cody says that’s clever but being a plumber would be pretty good right now because Miz is full of bs. Cody says MIz hasn’t changed at all, he’s an obnoxious carny and he embraces it. But that makes Miz reliable.

Cody asks Miz if he looks the same? He says he has been very busy for six years and it’s given him crystal clear clarity about what he needs to do: win the WWE Universal Championship belt. Miz says it’s a title because belts hold up your pants. Miz then says he’s heard that Rollins wants another shot at Cody and he doesn’t like his chances. And he doesn’t like his chances tonight against him either.

At WrestleMania everyone was talking about Cody but Miz didn’t have to hide and sneak in to surprise everyone, he single-handedly destroyed the Mysterio’s and then embarassed Logan Paul. Miz says we all know where Cody has been but this is his show and Cody can’t embarass him on his show, he won’t stand for it. Cody holds up a hand and tells Miz to settle down. Rhodes says he respects Miz and all his accomplishments. He gets the sense Miz is being hostile because he feels threatened by him.

Cody says he has no issues with Seth Rollins, he gave him a great fight and he’d be happy to have a rematch. He’s looking forward to facing all the best wrestlers in WWE. Miz corrects him and says Superstars, and Rhodes says sure, but he’s looking forward to his first match on RAW in six years even more. Cody shoves the microphone at Miz and says let the best man win. Miz tries to attack him but Cody sends him over the ropes and Miz is livid.

We see a replay of SmackDown, where Roman Reigns told The Uso’s to go to RAW and get the RAW Tag Team Championships. RK-Bro will be facing Alpha Academy later tonight.

Miz rolls outside and Cody hits a suicide dive and gets him back in. Rhodes goes to the top rope and jumps over Miz but tweaks his knee on the landing. Miz immediately hits a dropkick to the knee and applies a Figure Four leglock!

Cody tries to reach the ropes but Miz drags him back to the centre. They start slapping each other and Rhodes turns the hold and reverses the pressure. Miz slowly gets to the bottom rope to force the break. They slowly get to their feet and Cody is limping but he hits Miz and lands a Cody Cutter, followed by a CrossRhodes for the win.

Winner: Cody Rhodes

After the match Seth Rollins gets in the ring and waits for Cody to get off the corner post, then laughs at him. Rollins says he heard all the kind things Cody had to say about him earlier and he even heard the phrase “rematch”. What he wants Cody to remember though is that he was a surprise opponent. But now that he sees what he’s working with, he wants part 2. Cody says “absolutely yes” and Seth dances around the ring.

We see Kevin Owens meeting Ezekiel on last week’s RAW. Tommaso Ciampa is supposed to be interviewed backstage but before he can speak, Ezekiel interrupts and introduces himself. Kevin Owens tells Ciampa not to get fooled because this is obviously Elias. He asks him what he’s trying to pull and Ezekiel says he’s not Elias. Ciampa says it’s an easy mistake to make because it’s Elias’s younger brother. Owens yells that he’s the only sane person left.

Liv Morgan comes to the ring. We were supposed to get her and Rhea Ripley facing Sasha Banks and Naomi for the Women’s Tag Team Titles but that isn’t happening for no reason.

The All Mighty Bobby Lashley comes to the ring after we see a replay of MVP betraying him last week and siding with Omos.

*Commercial Break*

Lashley is in the V.I.P Lounge and he says he wasn’t invited onto the show but after what MVP and Omos did to him last week, he thought he’d invite himself. Lashley says last week should have been a celebration after he beat Omos at WrestleMania. He gives it up to Omos because he is incredibly powerful. And last week he felt that power again, only this time it came after the one man in the world he thought he could trust turned on him. Lashley tells MVP to get out here and give him an explanation.

MVP doesn’t answer the call, so Lashley threatens to destroy the V.I.P Lounge, and then MVP and Omos come to the stage. MVP tells Lashley to stop embarassing himself and if he touches anything he’ll get a bill from his lawyers. Lashley says he can shove the bill and tells him to come down and explain himself. MVP says as much as he would love that, he’s teaching Omos to be a businessman. He’s learning to only fight when the time and money are right.

In the meantime, Lashley should be thanking him. MVP says Lashley deserves an explanation. When he came back to WWE, Lashley was floundering. He was being led astray by some rat who wanted to be a social media star. He couldn’t even sniff the main event. And yet Lashley thinks he doesn’t need MVP. Doesn’t want to share the spotlight? Well don’t forget who it was that made him All Mighty.

Lashley says MVP came back for his farewell tour but he latched onto his next meal ticket. He rose the ranks and even beat Brock Lesnar, and MVP says yeah and all of that only happened because of him. MVP gets angry but steadies himself and says that’s all the past, he’s looking at the future with Omos. He’s bigger and stronger than Omos, who is going to replace him at the top of the mountain.

MVP says Lashley barely survived their first match but he promises he won’t survive the next. Lashley says he can hide behind the colossus but he’s going to cut him down, just like he did at WrestleMania, and then he’s coming for MVP. Lashley proceeds to destroy the V.I.P Lounge while MVP and Omos look on and laugh.

R-Truth, Reggie, and Akira Tozawa come out of a room backstage where Tozawa’s bachelor party was supposedly just held. Reggie says that was the best party ever. Truth shouts at Reginald that he can’t leave the 24/7 Championship and Dana Brooke at the bachelorette party, so they all run to crash the party.

Austin Theory is backstage with Sonya Deville and Adam Pearce and guess what? He’s now just Theory. He says he’s beaten Finn Balor twice and he wants a title shot. Pearce says he can have it. Kevin Owens barges in and screams about Elias and Ezekiel, saying he wants to see some sort of birth certificate or library card. Pearce says that’s all confidential and Owens shouts “his libary card is confidential?!” He says he wants to put Ezekiel in a lie detector test and Deville says if that’s what it will take to shut him up, then yeah he can have it. *Commercial Break*

Sonya Deville says Belair sustained an eye injury at WrestleMania but clearly that hasn’t halted her. She congratulates her on her incredible win at WrestleMania and gets the fans to applaud. Deville says she took it upon herself to find Belair’s next opponent and it wasn’t easy because there are so many options. Bianca says she will be happy to fight anyone. Deville says that’s great because she has an open contract and if Belair wants to prove she is the best sign it. Deville introduces her opponent and they play a drumroll but Sonya attacks Bianca from behind! Deville slams Belair, and says she is Bianca’s next opponent.

Dana Brooke and Tamina Snuka are having their bachelorette party and Dana says she’s glad they agreed on a truce so they can enjoy the party. Los Lethario’s appear and kiss them both on the cheeks. Nikki A.S.H then shows-up and says she’s brought a surprise and it’s two male strippers. Tamina rips the shirt off one and he’s a referee, then Nikki rolls-up Dana but Snuka knocks her off. Tamina throws Nikki onto the bar and drags her along it. R-Truth then stops everyone fighting and says nobody loves the 24/7 Championship more than him but this should be about love. Truth got ordained and he wants to officiate both weddings next week, but until then nobody can try and pin Dana. They all agree and start dancing but Truth looks like he has a plan in mind.

*Commercial Break*

He says The Uso’s say they’re coming to RAW to get the Titles but they won’t let that happen. Jey says they know why they’re here, they’re already the longest-reinging SmackDown Tag Team Champions ever, and now they want the RAW ones too. They want a unification match.

Riddle asks if that’s like Thanos putting the Infinity Stones in the gauntlet and Jey says yes, they have the blue one snad now they want the red ones. Orton starts to question them but out comes the The Street Profits. Dawkins says he seems to remember challenging RK-Bro to a one-on-one match before WrestleMania but not getting it. Last week they beat Alpha Academy, so surely they’re next the line. Yet here’s The Uso’s all the way from SmackDown, jumping the line.

Jey says there is no line, there only is the Bloodline. Ford says they’ll be damn happy to beat The Uso’s in order to get their title shot against RK-Bro because they want the smoke.
