Allegations from Janelle Grant have significantly impacted Vince McMahon’s reputation as a business leader, leading many fans to believe that his return to WWE is unlikely. In fact, even Jim Cornette explained why a pardon won’t matter when it comes to McMahon’s potential WWE return.

Janel Grant accused Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis of serious misconduct, including sexual assault, emotional abuse, and sex trafficking, with allegations dating back to March 2019 and a lot of things have come to light after the lawsuit was made in January this year. The lawsuit ultimately led to Vince McMahon resigning from WWE and TKO Holdings and all traces of him have been removed from WWE.

Last week, Donald Trump won the Presidential elections and became the President of the United States, beating Kamala Harris. This made fans wonder if Trump could just pardon the charges made against McMahon.

While speaking on his YouTube channel, Jim Cornette was asked whether Vince McMahon getting a pardon would lead to his WWE return. Jim Cornette explained why a pardon wouldn’t change much for Vince McMahon’s potential return to WWE. He noted that a pardon wouldn’t significantly impact Vince McMahon, especially from a public relations perspective. Considering Vince’s age, he questioned how feasible a return would look in a few years. Although a pardon might slightly open the door, Cornette doubted any changes would happen soon, especially with ongoing lawsuits.

Cornette pointed out that the federal investigation is still active, and regardless of its outcome, Janelle Grant’s lawsuit would still proceed. It will likely be some time before Vince is free of any legal issues.

“I don’t think the pardon will make a lot of difference for Vince, but I don’t think it would make a difference from a PR standpoint either. And with Vince’s age, you have to wonder what he’s going to look like in three or four years. It may have opened the door slightly, but I don’t think it’s going to happen anytime soon, certainly not while there are still suits being filed.

The federal investigation is still ongoing, and no matter what happens there, Janel Grant’s suit will still go forward. So, it’ll be a while before he’s free of any kind of litigation.”

Cornette also doubted WWE would want Vince on television, fearing potential backlash. Putting Vince McMahon on TV could backfire, leading people to assume he’s back in a top-level role, as most would find it hard to believe he’d appear if he wasn’t actively involved. Cornette felt it would be best to avoid that situation entirely.

“I don’t think they’d want him on television, because they’d worry, ‘What are we going to hear next week?’ Putting him on TV could backfire for several reasons. I don’t think they should do it, and I hope they don’t. But if they ever did, people would immediately assume he’s back at the top level, because no one would think he’d appear on that show if he wasn’t involved.”

The federal lawsuit against Vince McMahon is currently on hold pending federal investigation and remains in stay until December 11. In fact, Janel Grant’s lawyer also revealed that more potential victims have reached out after the lawsuit.
