Thunder Rosa has been part of the AEW family for quite a few years now and there’s no questioning her passion for the business, especially after she returned to AEW. With that said, it appears her Mission Pro Wrestling promotion is set to enter an indefinite hiatus soon.
In case you were not aware, Thunder Rosa started her own promotion in Texas called Mission Pro Wrestling a few years ago and it is an all-female promotion, which has seen stars like Roxanne Perez compete there as well.
Thunder Rosa took to Twitter and issued a statement for her promotion. Mission Pro Wrestling announced a hiatus in the statement, where Rosa stated that as the promotion approaches its five-year anniversary this fall, Rosa expressed gratitude for the support Mission Pro has received and the impact it has had in advancing women’s wrestling. Since its debut with the Genesis show on October 18, 2019, the promotion has been a platform for many women wrestlers, despite facing interruptions due to the pandemic.
Mission Pro Wrestling will go on hiatus after their “Midsummer Blast” event on August 17, 2024, in San Antonio. There are no plans to announce future show dates at this time. The decision to pause was described as difficult, acknowledging the disappointment it may cause fans, financial supporters, and talent. The break is intended for the organization to reassess and improve its structure and goals.
Tickets for the August 17 show are available at MissionProWrestling.com, and the event will be broadcast live on Title Match Network. Rosa reassured supporters that this was a temporary farewell and expressed hope to reconnect with everyone in the future.

A special message from Mission Pro Wrestling Co-Founder/Co-Owner, Melissa “Thunder Rosa” CervantesDear Mission Pro Wrestling supporters.
As we approach Mission Pro Wrestling’s five-year anniversary this fall. we are thankful to have built a brand that features the best in women’s wrestling and a company that strives to provide a safe environment for women to showcase their talents We are proud to have helped launch the careers of many women who are now worldwide-known stars in major promotions, and we take joy in watching the new generation of women’s wrestlers grow in confidence and performance.
From our first Genesis show on Oct. 18, 2019. we knew Mission Pro would be a wrestling promotion that would stand out from the crowd. After being stalled by the pandemic in early 2020, we returned in September of that year and have been going non-stop since.
After much consideration, our team has decided that Mission Pro Wrestling will go on hiatus after our Aug. 17, 2024 “Midsummer Blast” show in San Antonio. This will be our last show of 2024, and no future show dates will be announced at this time.
This was not an easy decision. We understand that this is disappointing news to Mission Pro fans, financial supporters and talent Please know that we are committed to using our time away as an opportunity to reset and recalibrate our organizational structure and goals to better serve the women’s wrestling community.
In the meantime, we look forward to seeing you in person for the last time in 2024 at our Aug 17 show, Tickets are on sale at MissionProWrestling.com. You can also watch the shots live on Title Match Network
This is not goodbye. This is goodbye for now.
I hope to see all of you again soon
Sincerely,Melissa “Thunder Rosa” Cervantes Co-Founder/Co-Owner”
Pro wrestling promotions can be put on hiatus for a wide variety of reasons and it is understandable why Thunder Rosa had to make this tough decision. Regardless, we’ll have to see when her promotion will open its doors again.
